- Records Request | Raleigh Charter High School | Raleigh
Records Request Records Requests Per the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), student records are only available to those who have authorization from the student or parent, guardian or responsible person if the student is less than 18 years of age. If the student is 18 years of age or older, school records will not be released to a parent, guardian, or responsible person without the student’s written consent. Records Request from Alumni and Former Students Raleigh Charter High School has partnered with Parchment, a leader in eTranscript exchange, to send high school transcripts electronically, securely and confidentially, to colleges and universities of your choice. The service is available online, 24 hours a day and seven days a week. Alumni and former students simply request a transcript and designate the academic institution, organization or individual that they would like to receive it. Users will be notified when their request is complete and can also track the status of their request or view a saved copy of their transcript. Please allow 2-3 business days for processing. Click here to begin . A fee of $5.00 is charged for each transcript. All phone calls and emails will be redirected to Parchment. Please allow 2-3 business days for processing. The following records may be requested online: Transcripts - Official records that display high school grades, total credits earned, graduation date (if applicable), school years attended, and grade point averages (both weighted and unweighted GPAs). The following records may NOT be requested: Duplicate diplomas Birth certificates SAT/ACT scores Immunizations Documents for corrections to birth certificates - verification of name and/or birthdate Alternatively, alumni and former students may use CFNC to send their transcripts to any college and university, including community colleges, in North Carolina for free. Go to CFNC.org , log into your account, and request an electronic transcript. Records Requests from Currently Enrolled Students Students currently enrolled in 9th through 12th grade at Raleigh Charter must request their transcript from their assigned college counselor. Current students cannot and should not use Parchment. Email or speak with your assigned college counselor to request a transcript. Unofficial transcripts can be shared electronically by PDF with students. However, requests for official transcripts must include either a mailing address or an email address for their college counselor to send the transcript. There is no transcript fee for current students. Alternatively, current students may use CFNC to send their transcripts to any college and university, including community colleges, in North Carolina for free. Go to CFNC.org , log into your account, and request an electronic transcript. Seniors and the College Application Process College counselors send official transcripts to colleges through Common App at key moments throughout the school year: the fall of senior year, a midyear update in January, and the final transcript after graduation in June. Seniors, contact your assigned college counselor about sending transcripts to colleges that are outside of the Common App platform. Parents and Caretakers We strongly believe that students need to advocate for themselves, to develop rapport with their college counselors, and to develop the necessary communication skills to be successful in their postsecondary plans. Therefore, while parents can request transcripts, we strongly recommend that parents encourage their students to make their own requests for transcripts. Please encourage your student to initiate communication on their own with college counselors and then follow up with your student. Enrollment Verification Requests from Third Parties Third parties, such as colleges and companies, must use Parchment to submit requests for enrollment verification for a fee. All phone calls and emails will be redirected to Parchment. Please allow 2-3 business days for processing. Click here to begin . Other Educational Records Requests Current and former students requesting standardized test scores are directed to the respective testing agencies: the College Board for SAT, PSAT, and AP test scores, and the ACT for ACT and PreACT test scores.
