RALEIGH CHARTER'S REPORT CARD
Last week, the State Report Card was released. You may view our school's results by going to the Department of Public Instruction website:
www.ncpublicschools.org

This information is based on testing from the end of 2007-2008. Once again, our students have done a very fine job on their End-of-Course Tests. They have scored well, and a very high percentage of them have scored well. These EOC Tests, we hasten to say, are but one measurement, but the measurement is one that all public schools use.

Our Open Houses are going well. We had several hundred (as many as a thousand?) interested folks attend our sessions on Jan. 27.
We appreciate the fine work of our staff and students, coordinated by Shayne Klein.
Tom Humble, Principal

FLEX DAY BACKUP NEEDED
Thank you to everyone who has signed up to drive for Flex Day! We could still use some backup drivers for the morning of Friday, Feb. 13. That would mean you'd be here in the morning to wait and see if all assigned drivers show up. If everyone shows up we will send you on your way, but if someone doesn't, you can help us avoid a crisis and a lot of last-minute scrambling, which is never fun.

If you would like to volunteer, please sign up at:
https://www.raleighcharterhs.org/volunteer

If you have any questions about the day or problems signing up, let us know at:
volunteerdrivers@raleighcharterhs.org

Reminder: Carpool lanes are closed on Flex Days.
Judy McDevitt, Community Liaison
jmcdevitt@raleighcharterhs.org

NEWS AND NOTES

THANK YOU, HANDY HELPERS!
On Saturday morning, Jan. 31, five parents saved our school some money by volunteering to do some needed repairs. They repaired a loose stairway railing, tightened chairs screws on over 75 lab chairs, installed a classroom screen, ran cable wires, and replaced classroom signs. Thank you to these, and to all parents and students who have volunteered their time to keep our school building maintained saving our school thousands of dollars!

PASTA POT UPDATE
The PASTA Pot continues to grow, thanks to the supportive parents of RCHS. We have received donations from 53% of our families, yet we continue to hope that all families will support the financial needs of our school community.

It's easy: simply write a check to RCHS PASTA Pot and send it to RCHS PASTA, 1111 Haynes Street, Raleigh, NC 27604.

Many families have already contributed, and we thank you for your support. Tax receipts for contributions made in 2008 will be issued via email soon.
