Welcome to the web site for the North Carolina Academic Team Association. This organization was created in order to encourage and develop academic competition (sometimes known as Quiz Bowl) across North Carolina schools, public and private.

NCATA has three goals:

1. Help schools create and develop academic teams for competition in and out of NC.
2. Support the creation of tournaments in NC, including a state level tournament.
3. Act as a clearinghouse for academic competition information for teams in NC.

We encourage coaches from all schools to join, and our future endeavors include the creation of by-laws, election of a board, and creating a more formal structure to support quiz bowl in North Carolina. In the meantime, please check the links to the left to find out about tournaments in your area or around the country. You can also find competition resources, information about forming a team at your own school, study tips, and other useful items.
